Real estate developer Amlak is set to renovate ‘Souq Al Buhair’ in Bahrain into a modern-mixed use facility, reported Trade Arabia.

The company, which is part of Bahrain’s Social Insurance Organization (SIO), has assigned Al Hedaya Contracting for the renovation process.

‘Souq Al Buhair’ is located in East Riffa and is close to several commercial and residential areas, as well as educational and medical centers within the country.

The renovation will include 30 retail units to be established in 2017, as the company has formed a strategic plan to renovate all the current markets which will add to its portfolio, stated CEO Mohamed Abdulalah Al Kooheji upon signing the agreement with Al Hedaya Contracting.

The new renovation plan is expected to accommodate more tenants and offer more services to residents through collaborating with Al Hedaya Contracting, according to the Bahrain News Agency.

The company’s new projects will also include a six-storey residential building called “The 66”, which consists of fully-furnished apartments that will begin construction work in December.
