Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, has agreed to extend the application period to reserve social housing rental units to November 30 for residents with incomes of less than EGP 1,500 per month.

The Housing Ministry previously offered 5,706 three-bedroom apartments for rent in social housing projects across 10 governorates for low-income residents.

The governorates where the apartments are offered include Ismailia, Suez, Qaliubiya, Menoufiya, Damietta, Minya, Sohag, North Sinai, Qena, and Beheira, according to Mai Abdel Hamid, Chairman of the Mortgage Finance Fund.

The minister also approved extending the reservation period for housing units dedicated for members of professional syndicates until the end of November.

The Housing Ministry recently allocated 3,000 social housing units in the new cities, and another 3,000 units in unspecified locations are expected to be offered soon, to be available for immediate delivery after contracting.
