The Federation of Arab Contractors (FAC) is to a plan the construction of towns across the 22 Arab league nations, reported Reuters Zawya.

The ‘Madinat Al Arab’ project could involve investments of at least $200 bn and is supposed to deliver traditional townships in order to tackle the housing issues most Arab nations have to deal with.

Funding for the project is to come from contractors, developers and private investors. While earlier this month it was reported that Jordan, Sudan and Egypt had expressed willingness to allocate land for the project; however, funding remains a key problem to many Arab countries struggling with economic difficulties.
