Cairo’s Chamber of Commerce, in coordination with the Portuguese Embassy, is to host a delegation of Portuguese businessmen during May to scout available investment opportunities in Egypt in various fields, MENA reports.

This comes in line with the Portuguese Ambassador Madalena Fischer’s visit to Cairo’s Chamber of Commerce for talks on strengthening economic ties between both governments.

“Portugal pays much attention to SMEs, because its economy depends on it in the first place,” Fischer points out. “Cairo’s Chamber of Commerce would be the starting point for the establishment of partnerships between both countries in the areas Portugal is specialized in, including energy, shoemaking, textiles among others… that could be the start of huge joint projects between Portugal and Egypt.”
