Residents of the emirate of Sharjah so far have not relocated to Dubai in larger numbers, according to research by property services firm Asteco, reported Gulf News on Sunday.

The primary reason for this lack of relocations is likely to be Dubai rents which have not declined enough to motivate Sharjah residents to move to Dubai.

Rents in Dubai have largely remained stable while the same goes for Sharjah which is not expected to witness larger rent increases in the foreseeable future due to new stock being added to the market.

Generally there were few rental shifts on the UAE market over the last few months with rents in Sharjah, Ajman and Ras Al-Khaimah only seeing minor shifts or none at all.
