Gov’t Earmarks EGP 2.48 mn Investments to New Valley in FY 2018/19

Planning Minister Hala El-Saeed noted on November 12 that the Egyptian government allocated investments estimated at EGP 2.48 mn to New Valley governorate in FY 2018/19, underlining the province’s promising investment opportunities and massive competitive capabilities, Invest-Gate reports.

“The population of the New Valley is estimated at 242,300 citizens and the arable land per person is nearly 1.45 acres,” El-Saeed said in an official statement on the ministry’s Facebook page.

She added that the per-capita agricultural land and investment plan in the governorate are the highest compared to other provinces such as Assiut, Luxor, Qalubiyah, Qena, Beni Suef, and Minya.

According to the statement, the planning minister has met New Valley Governor Mohamed El Zamlout to discuss the possibility of developing the governorate and encouraging people to reside there.

El Zamlout presented to El Saeed a study that targets luring 50,000 people to reside in New Valley annually, in addition to establishing ten model villages.
