Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) has signed a deal with its existing business partner Cairo-based Zaghloul Holdings for developing six new hotels in Egypt across a handful of its brands, Invest-Gate reports.

The new additions will help the group become one of the major international operators in Egypt and will place RHG, in the upcoming years, as “the leading brand in the city,” according to a company’s official statement on February 8.

The six hotels are Radisson Collection Hotel Cairo Heliopolis, Radisson Blu Serviced Apartments Cairo Heliopolis, Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Golf City, Radisson Hotel New Cairo, Radisson Hotel and Resort Ain Sokhna, and Radisson Blu Hotel and Resort Makadi Bay, Hurghada.

Commenting on the milestone, Executive Vice President and CDO of Radisson Hotel Group Elie Younes said, “Egypt has historically been one of the most visited countries in North Africa and we strongly believe in its tourism industry in the long run. These hotels will make a great contribution to the local employment and we thank our partner Zaghloul Holdings for their continued trust and for their contribution towards promoting tourism in the country.”

“We are further pleased to introduce two new brands to Egypt, Radisson Collection, positioned as the premium lifestyle and affordable luxury brand and Radisson as an upscale hotel brand,” Younes was quoted as saying.

On his part, Hazem Zaghloul, owner of Zaghloul Holdings, stated, “We have ambitious investment plans for the tourism sector in Egypt. We are confident in the future outlook for the sector with positive forecasts of increased visitor numbers and the significant investment in the tourism infrastructure of Egypt.”

Radisson Blu Serviced Apartments Cairo Heliopolis is scheduled to open in Q3 2019, Radisson Collection Hotel Cairo Heliopolis is set to open in Q2 2021, and Radisson Hotel and Resort Ain Sokhna is expected to inaugurate in Q4 2021, while Radisson Hotel New Cairo, Radisson Blu Hotel and Resort Makadi Bay, and Radisson Blu Hotel Cairo Golf City are due to open in Q1, Q3, and Q4 of 2020, respectively.

Zaghloul Holdings is a business conglomerate operating in real estate, contracting, tourism, commercial retail, entertainment, and sports investment industries, while RHG is one of the world’s largest hotel groups, with eight different hotel brands and over 1,400 hotels in operation and under development worldwide.
