ACUD, Cairo Gas Ink Deal to Supply Natural Gas to NAC’s Government District

The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) signed on April 18 a cooperation protocol with state-run Cairo Gas, representing the petroleum ministry, for the establishment of a natural gas network at the New Administrative Capital’s (NAC) government district, Invest-Gate reports.

Chairman of ACUD Ahmed Zaki Abdeen said the deal, which is valued at EGP 31.5 mn, is aimed at completing the necessary infrastructure to supply natural gas service to the district’s government buildings, which stretches over 153 acres, according to an official statement.

Abdeen asserted the importance of cooperation with the petroleum ministry in this giant national project, especially with regard to work related to the supply of natural gas.

The agreement was signed in the presence of Abdeen, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek El Molla, and Chairman of Cairo Gas Mohamed Hassan.

On his part, El Molla pointed out that the petroleum ministry is providing more time to accelerate the supply of natural gas to all vital national projects being carried out by the state.

“The aim behind speeding up the supply of natural gas to new housing projects is to meet the state’s needs of continuous urban expansion of natural gas service,” the minister was quoted as saying.
