Rixos Hotels Sets Foot Into Hurghada with 3 New Resorts

Rixos Hotels has uncovered plans to diversify its portfolio in Egypt and expand into Hurghada’s Makadi Bay, Magawish, and Sahl Hasheesh, with three new properties slated to open its doors toward the year-end, Invest-Gate reports.

“With the opening of the three new resorts, we will have a combined total of 2,000 rooms in Hurghada alone. We have had a keen interest in this emerging area which is not only a sight to behold, but is also easily accessible for tourists from all around the world,” Board Member and Managing Director of Rixos Hotels Egypt Erkan Yildirim highlighted in a press release on April 21.

“With the availability of direct flights and Hurghada’s close proximity to Cairo, this destination is unmatched in convenience and splendor,” Yildirim remarked.

The brand new beach-front hotels introduce “a new era of excellence for Rixos Hotels,” via providing ultra-all-inclusive experiences that offer luxuriant guest rooms, suites, and private villas – all complemented with meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) facilities, wellness and health amenities, and an inspiring range of food and beverage (F&B) outlets.

Meanwhile, Rixos Hotels intends to set foot into new areas in Egypt, as a part of its development pipeline, expecting to grow its current footprint by 150% with the addition of two new hotels in Marsa Alam and Cairo.

“Rixos Hotels’ expansion comes at the right time. Over the last 12 months, Egypt’s tourism industry has witnessed healthy and steady growth, with arrivals up 14.5% from 8.3 mn in 2017 to 9.5 mn in 2018. Growth has been fuelled by the cheaper EGP and government incentives for charter airlines operating international flights,” Yildirim elaborated.
