Mariout Hills to Establish 1st Sports Medicine City

Mariout Hills Development, a subsidiary of Mariout Hills Group, is preparing to establish the first sports medicine city with a total investment of EGP 162 mn in its sustainable city project in New Alamein, North Coast, Invest-Gate reports.

Ahmed Hassan, chairman of Mariout Hills, said that the sports medicine city will include the largest international center for sports camps in the Middle East, as well as units and centers to discover talents in all individual and group games.

To be inaugurated within two years,  the city is characterized by a decreased carbon footprint so as to be the perfect place for hosting athletes.

“The sports center will be ready to receive three football teams at a time, with a capacity of 100 people per day, and provide the most modern means of preparation, physical equipment, hospitalisation, rehabilitation, and specialised medical treatment.,” Hassan said.

Hassan expected that the sports medicine city to receive about 18,000 athletes annually from Africa and northern Europe, with plans to include an accredited center of international associations for the detection of steroids.

On the other hand, the sports medicine city will comprise two specialized centers, the first of which will be for the treatment of stadium injuries and physical rehabilitation, as well as, women’s care and beauty, Hassan said.

He added that the second center will be dedicated to caring for senior citizens, the hospitalization for the treatment of age-related diseases, and psychological rehabilitation.It will also have special units for Alzheimer cases, he pointed out.

In early May, the chairman announced that Mariout Hills launched its first “eco-city” in New Alamein, Swiss Ranches, with estimated investments of EGP 2.4 bn during the project’s first phase.
