Over 260 Development Projects Underway in Giza: Official

Giza Governor Ahmed Rashid said on June 11, during a meeting held with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, that 260 projects are underway in the province, with costs estimated at EGP 12.5 bn, in addition to other developments being established with EGP 217 mn worth of investments, Invest-Gate reports.

Giza will soon see 117 potable water and sanitation projects, 56 educational developments, 16 residential compounds, three youth and sporting projects, 30 medical centers and hospitals, 35 causeways, and three irrigation stations, Rashid said in a recent cabinet statement.

During the meeting, in the attendance of  Minister of Local Development Mahmoud Shaarawi, the governor referred to the major national projects being developed in Giza, including third phase of Cairo Metro’s Line III expansion project, which is valued at EUR 420 mn, as well as the renovation of the Egyptian Museum, with costs of EGP 18 bn, and 550-meter El Nahda Tunnel, with about EGP 406 mn. 

Rashid also stated that the government managed to paint 324 building facades across the neighborhoods of Giza province. Also, the area has witnessed pavement works of about EGP 155 mn, in addition to almost EGP 150 mn pumped into the development of highways and bridges, solely financed by the state budget.
