Abdullah Al-Othaim Introduces 1st Snow City in Egypt

KSA-based Abdullah Al-Othaim Leisure and Tourism Company has introduced its very first snow city concept at City Stars Mall, east Cairo, with investments estimated at EGP 500 mn, allowing visitors to “live-in” a snow milieu all-year-round, Invest-Gate reports.

Marking the fifth leisure venture of Al-Othaim in Egypt, the new family entertainment project, or “Snow City,” stretches over 60,000 square feet (nearly 5,574.2 square meters) and is overlaid with 750 pounds of snow manufactured using pure water, with a freezing temperature controlled below 5°C, according to an official statement on July 8.

Deemed an eco-friendly development, Snow City “uses the latest international specifications and French technology, with committed safety and security measures, implemented to provide the real snow environment,” read the statement.

Snow City was inaugurated in the presence of Saudi Arabian Ambassador Sir Osama Noqaly, Chairman of Al-Othaim Abdullah Saleh Al-Othaim, Fahad Abdullah Al-Othaim, the company’s vice chairman and CEO, alongside other dignitaries.

Commenting on the project’s launch, the CEO noted, “We are extremely happy to open our latest leisure project in Egypt. This opening comes under the framework of the expansion of leisure projects outside of Saudi Arabia. We are increasing our investment in the leisure and tourism industry across different countries in the Arab region.”

“The company’s expansion plan, specifically in the Egyptian market, refers to the attractive investment climate in Egypt and the feasibility of all the investment components such as government facilitation, developed infrastructure, and high population density,” Al-Othaim further revealed.

Al-Othaim is considered one of the largest Saudi companies operating in the local and international leisure sectors for implementing and managing family entertainment centers and tourism projects. Snow City has been conceptualized and established pursuant to a well-studied strategy to expand into the leisure and tourism industries in the UAE, KSA, Oman, Egypt, and Jordan.
