New Alamein University Welcomes 1st Students

The 2019/20 academic year has officially begun at the Arab Academy for Science Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) in New Alamein, welcoming the first intake of dental and pharmaceutical students, Invest-Gate reports.

The preliminary operation of the branch comes in line with the ministry’s plans to host different activities and services in New Alamein, as part of its long-term strategy to render the coastal city habitable all year round, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Assem El Gazzar said in a ministerial statement on September 22.

On September 19, El Gazzar and Minister of Higher Education Khaled Abdel Ghaffar earlier agreed to commence the interim study at AASTMT and New Mansoura University as of September 2020, according to a previous official statement.

Stretching over 62 acres, AASTMT constitutes 34 buildings, serving 12 faculties and offering dormitories, cafeterias, along with the main building, a library, and a creative center. Meanwhile, New Mansoura University spreads across 128 acres, comprising 13 faculties, four student residences, an administration building, and a library.
