The UAE’s ports operator DP World posts a rise in second-quarter gross container volumes by 10.4% on a like-for-like basis and 10.7% on a reported basis, Invest-Gate reports.
DP World handled 17.6 mn twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in the three months to June 30, the company says in a statement.
Volumes in the second quarter were driven by improved trading conditions and market share gain from new shipping alliances, says DP World Chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem.
Half-year gross container volumes rose 7.7% on a like-for-like basis and 8.2% on a reported basis. DP World handled 34 mn TEUs in the six months.
