EgyptAir will kick off weekly domestic direct flights on February 20 between South Sinai’s Sharm El-Sheikh and Upper Egypt’s Luxor, Invest-Gate reports.
The national carrier will operate these direct flights every week on Thursday, starting February 20 until May 28. However, more flights will be scheduled if there is demand, according to a statement released by the company.
The Airbus A220-300 planes will be used for these three months, and clients would be able to book their tickets through the electronic website or by calling 1717, EgyptAir noted.
The new flights will help facilitate the movement of tourists between cities, therefore boosting tourism as one of the leading sources of Egypt’s income.
In January 2019, ministers of civil aviation and tourism witnessed the experimental operation of domestic flights for the first time from Sphinx International Airport, west Cairo, which began on January 25 and set to last until February 9.
