Madbouly Negotiates With WB To Fund Projects

Minister of Housing Mostafa Madbouly has taken off to Washington DC to participate in the annual meetings of the World Bank (WB) to discuss housing, utilities and urban development projects, Invest-Gate reports.

Madbouly is also participating in a session dedicated to urban planning and sustainable development as a keynote speaker, and will present sustainable urban development as well as the ministry’s strategy for new housing, facilities and cities. He will also present an overview of important national projects as well as the investment opportunities in Egypt.

This also coincides with the participation of the minister in meetings organized by Sanitation and Water for All (SWA), a global multi-stakeholder organization bringing together more than 150 governments, the private sector, civil society organizations, development partners, supporting bodies, and scientific research institutions among others stimulating political leadership, as well as maximizing and optimizing the use of available resources.

“[The] SWA organizes meetings of ministers and senior officials in Washington DC, USA, and the first meeting will be held by the World Bank on behalf of the organization on 20 April,” says Madbouly. “On the previous days, April 19 and 20, UNICEF will organize a “United Nations Children’s Fund” meeting of sector ministers, including ministers responsible for water and sanitation with finance ministers,” he added.
