Deputy Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities for National projects Khaled Abbas followed up on the implementation of the central park complex project, Capital Park, in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) in east Cairo, Invest-Gate reports.

In a tour that lasted for six hours, Abbas checked on the precautionary measures taken at construction sites to safeguard the workers and ensure their safety against COVID-19, according to the ministry’s statement on May 5.

In addition, Abbas gave a maximum of a two-week period to one of the construction companies to remedy its delay and able to meet its scheduled deadlines.

On his part, Amr Khattab, head of the working group supervising Capital Park, said that the project spans across over 1,000 acres and extends over more than 10 kilometers in length, making it one of the largest parks worldwide

The easy-accessed park is divided into three coherent phases, namely CP 01, CP 02, and CP 03, each of which reflects a unique, urban, and visual character.

CP 01 spans over 375 acres, includes more than 250 acres of open green areas, and several other projects such as an Islamic garden and an integrated resort.

The 306-acre second phase comprises more than 240 acres of open areas for walking, in addition to a heritage garden, recreational areas, and an open theater.

Extending over 309 acres, CP 03 boasts 250 acres of open areas, while allocating 50 acres for unique projects such as a kids park, a library, and an entertainment sports club.

The ministry targeted to complete the implementation of a number of utility and service projects in NAC by June 2020, including Capital Park, which spans across over 1,000 acres and extends over more than 10 kilometers in length.

In April, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has asked the government to reschedule the launch of all national megaprojects planned for this year to 2021 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak.
