Al Ahly Sabbour Donates EGP 4.5 mn in Coronavirus Support Efforts

Al Ahly Sabbour Developments has cooperated with Tahya Misr Fund to purchase a set of respirators and 75,000 COVID-19 test kits, at a total value of EGP 4.5 mn, in efforts to aid the government in combating the novel pandemic, Invest-Gate reports.

Ahmed Sabbour, the company’s CEO, praised the state’s efforts to help the economy counter the repercussions of the Coronavirus. He also voiced the developer’s social responsibility to provide assistance to healthcare workers and physicians to carry out their challenging duties during this emergency situation, according to a Cabinet statement on May 12.

This came in an official letter the company had sent to Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, confirming its support for all precautionary and preventive measures taken by the government to overcome problems posed by the outbreak.

As part of Al Alhy Sabbour’s keenness to stand hand-in-hand with the Egyptian government, the developer also launched some community initiatives such as “We got your back,” in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and Population, to support the families of medical staff working in various governorates to combat the virus, Sabbour underlined.

On his part, Mabdouly hailed the initiatives taken by Al Ahly Sabbour, stressing, “The government is confident that businessmen, as well as the private sector, play an important role in combating the current crisis, within the framework of their corporate social responsibility (CSR).”

In early March, Al Ahly Sabbour, in partnership with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), has launched KEEVA, with costs estimated at EGP 5 bn, located in 6th of October City, west Cairo.
