Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and Transportation Minister Hesham Arafat are mulling upcoming transportation sector development plans, Invest-Gate reports.
The Ministry of Transportation will focus on launching the fourth metro line, developing a national road network, and renovating existing railways to guarantee safety in the upcoming period, according to a cabinet statement.
Further transportation plans include potential transportation of shipments through railways and transportation means on the Nile river to reduce road traffic congestion.
“There are plans to work on a transportation network between Cairo and other governorates transferring passengers and shipments, as the ministry seeks to provide sustainable services and accommodate the expanding population,” adds Arafat.
