Egypt Begins Securing Land and Sea Ports

Egypt is completing the first phase of nationwide efforts to secure land and seaports at a cost of USD 30 mn, Invest-Gate reports.

Further updates to equipment and machinery are needed to complete the remainder of the project’s phases. The announcement was made as part of a meeting between representatives from the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of Interior, officials from the Ports Authority, and Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, who asserted the importance of securing land and sea ports as well as amending legislation on illegal smuggling, according to a cabinet statement.

“Developing and securing these ports will contribute to increasing trade services,” Ismail adds.
