Minister of Endowment Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa suggested forming a committee to resolve a dispute over ministry lands, following an early meeting held with parliamentary representatives from Ismailia and residents living in the Tal El Kebeer and El Kasaseen areas, Invest-Gate reports.
One of the resolutions will be deciding on a selling price for the old residences, belonging to owners who do not have contracts affiliated with the Agrarian Reform Authority. To those who obtain legal documents from the city’s Authority, are to keep their lands. The Ministry of Endowment will not seize any, according to an official statement.
The lands were previously inhabited by residents who were not in possession of contracts with the Agrarian Reform Authority and faced the threat of evacuation following lawsuits filed by the General Authority for Endowments to retrieve the lands, the statement read.
