El-Sisi Inaugurates The Renovated Islamic Art Museum

President Abdel-Fattah El Sisi inaugurated the Islamic Art Museum on January 18, following the finalization of its renovations in Abdeen.

President Abdel-Fattah El- Sisi, the Prime Minister, the Ministers of Interior, Antiquities, International Cooperation, and the Cairo Governor celebrated the reopening of the Islamic Art Museum in Abdeen, along with the ambassadors of the UAE, USA, and Switzerland. All three countries had contributed to the renovations project. Additionally, UNESCO’s General Director and the Director of International Cooperation Department at the Italian Foreign Ministry also attended the inauguration.

The museum had been closed down for three years due to a terrorist attack in January 2014, where a bomb directed against the Cairo Security Directorate located across the Museum in Bab El-Khalk District exploded.
