Work on the Landmark Cityview Tower in Bahrain’s Seef district has resumed after a five-year delay, according to Arabian Business on Wednesday.

The project had been launched in 2009 and stalled in 2011 due to circumstances beyond the developer’s control. The tower is being built by Bahrain-based developer Cityview, with construction set to be completed by September 2017.

The developer had in January claimed to have resumed construction on the project, saying it would be completed by the end of 2016. The tower is among several stalled developments in Bahrain and was being reviewed by a government committee to address its problems.

The development is a joint venture between Ithmaar Bank and Ebrahim Abdulaal Al Fahad Group.
