Oman to Launch Waterfront Project Next Week

The first phase of the Mina Al Sultan Qaboos Waterfront in Muscat, Oman is set to launch next week, the Oman Tribune reported on Tuesday.

The project is aimed at transforming the port into a tourism-based mixed-use development with the first phase valued at OMR 500 mn. The first phase includes entertainment and lifestyle attractions.

The waterfront, upon its scheduled completion in 2027, will have a fishermen’s port, berthing facilities for cruise ships, waterfront promenades, seven hotels, retail areas and residential spaces as well as several other amenities such as healthcare facilities, restaurants and a tourism center.

The waterfront project is aimed to push economic diversification in the sultanate and is being developed by the Omani Company for Tourism Development Omran. The launch of the first phase will take place next Wednesday under the patronage of Minister of Tourism Ahmed Bin Nasser Mehrzi.
