Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, declares that 99 projects for potable water and sanitation are ongoing in the Gharbia governorate, Invest-Gate reports.
The Minister remarks that the National Organization for Potable Water and Sanitary Drainage (NOPWSD) is in charge of implementing these projects.
Additionally, El Gazzar explains that five potable water projects are underway to improve services. In the same context, Ehab Khedr, head of NOPWSD, indicates that nine sanitation projects are being implemented in several areas.
Furthermore, Khedr notes that the total number of rural areas served with sanitation in Gharbia governorate has reached 195 rural areas, accounting for 76.7%. Moreover, these services were delivered to eight rural areas (1.9%), and the other 77 areas (15.5%) are underway to be connected with sanitation services; of which 16 areas are within the “Hayah Kareema” initiative.
