EGP 2.3 bn in Housing, Infrastructure Projects Underway in Kafr El Sheikh  

Over EGP 2.3 bn in infrastructure and housing projects are set to be built in Kafr El Sheikh, according to Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly.

The projects include 42 water and sewage projects, road projects and 3,000 social housing units.

The water projects include a station in Dessouk at a cost of EGP 375 mn, a water station at Qaleen at a cost of EGP 252 mn, and a water station in Sidi Salem at cost of EGP 282 mn.

A total of 39 sewage projects have already been completed at a cost exceeding EGP 1 bn, with remaining sanitation projects on track to be completed within the next two years.

Approximately 3,082 residential units are being built as part of the social housing project throughout the Kafr El Sheikh governorate: 792 units in El Hamol; 552 units in Baklein; 520 units in Borg El Berles, 308 units in Balteen, 282 units in Fouh; 168 units in Sidi Salem; 144 units in Matbous; 108 units in Bella; 100 units in Dessouk; 72 units in Riyadh, and 36 units in Kafr El Sheikh governorate’s capital city of Kafr El Sheikh. Around 1,210 units have been completed with 1,872 units still under construction.

Moreover, among the road projects are the first phase of the project connecting the areas of Rafid Aboul Rous, Matbous, and Fouh, which will extend for 16 km and have a width of 21 meters, at a cost of EGP 500 mn. The project is set to be completed in December 2016.

The second phase of the project will also be 16 kilometers long, with a cost of EGP 665 mn, and is set to be completed in 2019.
