The government of the United Arab Emirates is set to build a $272 million residential complex in the emirate of Ajman under the Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme, featuring 729 eco-friendly housing units, according to WAM.
According to Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, the UAE’s Minister for Infrastructure Development and Chairman of the programme, the project – which is being built on a 950,000 square meter area – is the largest carried out by the programme since its inception in 1999.
Al Nuaimi also noted the project was “based upon the [Emirati] leadership’s directives to provide houses to citizens, so as to enjoy stability”, noting that factors such as sustainability, safety, eco-friendliness and energy efficiency had been considered during the design process.
