London’s Television Centre will to be converted into residential apartments that will be marketed in Dubai next month, reported The National.

The building was the headquarter of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) from 1960 to 2013, and will be exhibited at Cityscape Global.

The building will contain 800 new homes, cafes and restaurants, a cinema, office space that will take up to 5,000 workers, and a private members’ club. The first phase is set for completion in 2018.

BBC sold most of the site to property developer Stanhope for AED 971.3 million in 2012. The UK broadcaster moved its operations to Manchester, according to Arabian Business.

BBC is also expected to lease some of the studios in the new building once completed, where buyers will be able to live above active BBC studios.

The new apartments in the BBC building being sold in Dubai range from £700,000 for a one-bedroom apartment to £8m for a penthouse.
