Over 3,700 construction projects, worth $400 billion, are currently underway in Dubai, a new report indicated, according to Trade Arabia.
According to Business News for Construction’s (BNC) report entitled Dubai’s Construction Market 2016, several of these projects have an estimated value of over $100 billion and are currently near finalization. Meanwhile, approximately 21% are on hold.
The report was commissioned by The Big 5, the largest construction industry event in the Middle East.
Among the construction projects are commercial, residential, education, health care and hospitality buildings, leisure and recreation facilities, religious buildings, retails facilities, and mixed use urban developments that make up 77% of the construction work in Dubai, according to Gulf Construction.
Furthermore, the total spending on infrastructure projects related to Dubai Expo 2020 will reach $18 billion.
