Construction has kicked off on Industrial City project, dubbed Sino-Oman, and is expected to receive investment revenues worth of $10.7 billion in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) located in Duqm, Oman, according to the Oman Observer.
The project is expected to include a large number of heavy, medium and light industries, along with tourist, commercial and healthcare unitsm all developed by the Chinese contractor Duqm Ningxia Construction Company.
A team from the construction company is currently overseeing the road developments, office and residential facilities to house light industries, reported Trade Arabia.
The developer also plans to build a light and medium industries zone, assembly plants, automotive assembly units, halal foods processing, logistics-based ventures, e-commerce units, solar-based equipment, car batteries, oil and gas tools, bicycle assembly units and apparel production facilities, among other investments.
