14,000 Applied to Obour City Authority to Validate Land Ownership

About 14,000 people have applied to the Obour City Authority to have their land ownership validated following the presidential decree for the establishment of New Obour City, reported Al Borsa News.

The last day to apply at the authority to receive validation requests by land owners is August 23, said Amin Ghoneim, Head of the New Obour City Authority, according to Al Bawaba News.

New Obour City was established according to  presidential decree No. 240 for the year 2016 and is now owned by the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) and the Armed Forces, reported Invest Gate.  Those with documents proving ownership of land within the area designated as New Obour City were requested to visit the New Obour City Authority to validate their ownership status.

About 10 orders were given to remove any construction violations, in various neighbourhoods in New Obour City, reported Invest Gate.

The authority will decide the fees to be paid to alter the land’s activity, whether agriculture or residential, following the receipt of applicants’ requests.

Development work has commenced for the entrance of the city and the main road, starting from Obour tunnel up to Orabi Square, with a total length of eight kilometers for EGP 40 million, added Ghoneim.

Further work on road construction will be carried out for a cost of EGP 45 million, to be completed by the end of this year. The work will include developing Line 10 as a main axis of the city, starting from Ahmed Badawy Road to Belbis Road, a total of 14 kilometers, added Ghoneim.
