Nakheel to Build 2 New Hotels at Retail Hubs

Dubai-based developer Nakheel has released the construction master plan for two new hotels at Dragon City, reported Trade Arabia.

The first hotel is expected to accommodate 295 rooms, located near the world-famous Dragon Mart retail and trading hub, which includes a dining and entertainment complex.

Nakheel will also build a second hotel, expected to accommodate 375 rooms, at Ibn Battuta Mall. Both hotels are projected to be finalized in 2017, but further extensions will be added later on.

Nakheel has stated that the new hotel will feature amenities such as a restaurant, coffee shop and gym, over 180,000 square feet, while the other hotel at Ibn Battuta will be located near the metro entrance and will include a restaurant, gym and pool deck.

The Dragon City expansion measures 2.2 million square feet, including retail spaces, two residential towers containing 1,120 apartments, and a multi-story car park with 6,200 spaces, according to the Middle East Association.

The Dubai-based company includes major developments such as the Palm Jumeirah, The World, Deira Islands, Jumeirah Islands, Jumeirah Village, Jumeirah Park, Jumeirah Heights, and The Gardens.

Nakheel’s current and future projects include more than 15 million square feet of space suitable for rent, as retail destination developments include Ibn Battuta Mall, Dragon Mart 1 and 2, Nakheel Mall, The Pointe, and The Golden Mile, among many others.
