The Sharqia governorate contracted the Arab Contractors Company for the construction for 1,200 units for the social housing project for EGP 185 million, reported Alborsa News.

About 77.5 acres are dedicated for the utilities and infrastructure in four cities, including Alhasneya, Belbeis, and Mashtol, said Mohamed Abd El Fattah, Deputy Director of the Sharqia Housing Directorate.

The project is expected to be completed in 18 months, added Abd El Fattah. A total of 13 contracting companies, both in the public and the private sector, competed for the tender to build the residential units.

The Sharqia governorate owes EGP 65 million to 17 construction firms for environmental and infrastructure projects.
