Arab Contractors to Build EGP 950M Piers in Port Said

The Arab Contractors Company plans to build several piers of a total length of 1,000 meters in East Port Said within 18 months, said Mohsen Salah, the company’s chairperson, according to Amwal Al Ghad.

The piers are part of the Suez Canal Axis Development project launched in Augst 2014 by President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi. Two sets of piers, each 500 meters in length, are to be built in two regions, with construction costs of EGP 950 million, Salah said.

The new piers’ expected capacity is up to 170,000 tons.

The Suez Canal Axis Development project’s aims to develop three canal cities, namely Suez, Ismailia, and Port Said.
