Saudi developer and operator of power plants ACWA Power signs an agreement with Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) and Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) to build a wind power plant with a capacity of 10 gigawatts (GW), Invest-Gate reports.
The agreement includes allocating lands for measurements and technical studies required for the project, in preparation for negotiating the project’s final contracts.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of a meeting between the Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mohamed Shaker, and Saudi Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, in Riyadh.
The two ministries discuss electrical interconnection between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, in addition to cooperation in the fields of renewable energy and hydrogen.
