Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, announces that the ministry hosts the Badya City project on its pavilion at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Invest-Gate reports.

The project is developed in partnership between the New Urban Communities Authorities (NUCA) and Palm Hills Development.

El-Gazzar reveals that Egypt is executing projects in partnership with 67 developers on a total area of 13,000 feddan in fourth-generation cities, with investments of EGP 1.1 tn, including EGP 311 bn contributed by the state.

He notes that these projects created around 200,000 jobs.

El-Gazzar says that the Badya is built on 3,000 feddans with total investments of over EGP 100 bn and includes 50,000 residential units.

Yasseen Mansour, Chairman of Palm Hills Development, comments that the infrastructure of Badya utilizes technology and artificial intelligence in the management of services and utilities, which contributes to saving energy and water consumption by 30%, reducing operational costs by 20%, and producing 30% of energy needs by renewable sources.
