Top global ICT solutions firm, Huawei has signed an agreement with Dubai South to implement future-city capabilities and services to Dubai’s South Business Park Free Zone, Trade Arabia reported.
The Business Park lies at the gateway of Dubai South and includes 11 modern buildings and a commercial space to support diverse sectors, such as aviation, logistics, finance, business consultancies, training institutions, retail, fitness and food and beverage (F&B).
“The MoU, between Dubai South and Huawei will see the deployment of Huawei’s Smart City and Safe City Solutions to provide enhanced services to residents and businesses in the Park,” Managing Director of Huawei Enterprise, UAE, Colin Hu said.
“Huawei will provide strategic counsel to support the development of a blueprint for Dubai South’s smart initiatives. Huawei will also share its global expertise through training sessions, expert workshops and guided visits to other key customer sites where Huawei Smart City solutions have been implemented,” said Hu.
Huawei Smart City and Safe City Solutions deliver expertise in end-to-end network planning and development of cutting-edge technologies by implementing an open ecosystem of partners, according to Construction Week Online.
In addition, Huawei’s capabilities include mobile and fixed broadband infrastructure, while its Internet of Things (IoT) platform allows rapid connectivity, security and ID management for large-scale deployment of smart city sensors and devices, said Hu.
“We value Huawei’s global ICT expertise and success in building smart cities of the future, to provide advanced, smart and sustainable services to the larger community at Dubai South, making the city the preferred destination to live, work and invest,” he added.
