Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities is currently working on scanning and preparing a list of all land in Egypt that can be offered for real estate investment purposes, Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs, Khaled Abbas told Invest Gate in an exclusive statement.
Land plots deemed suitable will either be tendered in September 2016, or offered to the private sector for joint collaboration with the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) to implement real estate development projects, Abbas said.
Plot sizes are planned to range from 50-200 acres.
The Ministry of Housing is additionally working on connecting utilities to all lands, to facilitate real estate development projects, especially due to previous complaints by investors about the delay in connecting utilities, which eventually had an impact on the handover of units.
