Bahraini Edamah announced the investment of BHD 350 million ($ 930 million) in Hawari Islands, to transform the archipelago into an eco-friendly tourism destination, Construction Week Online reported.
The project which is intended by Edamah to boost tourism industry is expected to create 3,000 jobs.
A planning and development committee has been formed under Deputy Prime Minister of Bahrain and Chairman of Mumtalakat HE Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa to carry out specialist studies to guide the planning and execution of the development area in Hawari Islands, and set up a guide for future developments towards “sustainable, architectural, environmental, and touristic foundations” for other investment opportunities, Acting Chief Executive Officer of Edamah Mahmood Hashim Alkooheji said.
The strategy adopted by Edamah is to renovate and develop the resort, and to develop an eco-friendly destination over 247 acres of the archipelago.
