Lafarge Egypt contributes to the construction of the Iconic Tower project in the New Administrative Capital, using 20,000 tons of environmentally friendly ECOPlanet cement throughout all stages of the project, Invest-Gate reports.

The use of this type of cement results in a significant reduction in the carbon footprint, ultimately improving the performance and quality of the project.

The company places great emphasis on research and development, investing in sustainable business practices that support Egypt’s Vision 2030.

By using green cement in the construction process, Lafarge Egypt reduces carbon emissions by 60%, with the ECOPlanet cement utilized in the project reducing carbon emissions by 6,840 tons compared to ordinary Portland cement.

Sustainability is a key focus for Lafarge Egypt, which recognizes its role as a responsible company within the framework of the Holcim Group’s strategy, which is centered on adopting sustainable business practices and promoting the transition to low-carbon construction.

The tallest tower in Africa, the Iconic Tower consists of 80 floors and a total height of 385.8 meters, with environmentally friendly building materials utilized throughout its construction.

This project aligns with the Ministry of Environment’s Go Green initiative, part of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development “Egypt 2030.”
