Schneider Electric Unveils Vision for Smart Homes in Egypt

Schneider Electric, a leader in digitally transforming energy management and automation, hosted its inaugural “Homes of the Future” event in Egypt to unveil innovative smart home solutions and share its vision for the promising sector, Invest-Gate reports.

The event aligns with the Egyptian government’s goal to build smarter cities powered by renewable energy and tech-driven smart homes, promoting energy efficiency and sustainability.

Visitors learned how technology can transform homes into smart ones ensuring safety, comfort, and reliability. Using Schneider Electric’s Wiser Smart Home solution, residents can control homes via smartphones, enhancing air quality, temperature, lighting, and appliance safety.

The solutions promote sustainability and lower carbon footprints, reflecting Schneider Electric’s long-term commitment to sustainability.

Schneider Electric also provides EVLink chargers to fully charge cars in four hours, cutting costs up to 50%. The company aims to install 500 chargers in Egypt in 2023 and 4,000 in three years.

“Research shows homes will be the biggest energy consumers by 2050. We must make them smart, efficient, and sustainable using technology. Our goal aligns with Egypt’s drive for digital transformation in smart homes and cities,” says Sebastian Riez, Schneider Electric’s Northeast Africa & Levant cluster president.

“Smart homes are a necessity for sustainability and better living. They significantly cut bills, rationalize energy use and enhance standards of living. Schneider Electric aims to be the partner of choice in smart homes,” he adds.

Sustainable smart homes use technology to improve life quality, make services efficient, and ensure current and future needs are met economically, socially, environmentally, and culturally.

Saif El-Demerdash, Vice President for Home and Distribution, Northeast Africa & Levant, states “We plan to create 1,000 smart homes in Egypt by 2023. ‘Homes of the Future’ aspires to make smart home solutions affordable and easy to use for all needs and priorities.

“This profoundly aligns with Egypt’s vision for a sustainable energy strategy with homes accounting for 20% of emissions. Schneider Electric’s goal is to help reach net-zero emissions with innovative solutions and technologies,” El-Demerdash notes.

Schneider Electric offers solutions and services contributing to Egyptian infrastructure and smart cities, providing software to manage facilities with IoT technology, including the New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City.
