City Edge Developments has announced the sponsorship of the first edition of the New Alamein Festival, which will take place in New Alamein City, from July 13 to August 26, 2023, Invest-Gate reports.

The festival is expected to attract one million visitors from across the Arab world to attend and participate in its activities, including artistic and sporting events, exhibitions, and entertainment shows.

It will be held at the first and largest integrated regional tourist and entertainment destination in New Alamein, with international teams and federations participating in various sporting events. There will also be concerts featuring stars of Arabic music.

City Edge’s sponsorship reflects its commitment to supporting the national economy and enriching Egypt’s cultural and artistic life.

The festival’s events and activities, held across three main areas of the new city with the highest international standards, are befitting El Alamein’s status as one of the most significant and largest fourth-generation cities.

Mohamed El-Dahan, CEO of City Edge, said the company’s interest in participating in and sponsoring the festival stems from a desire to support the Egyptian economy and increase investment opportunities in New Alamein City.

This in turn helps drive tourism through a comprehensive schedule of sports, entertainment, and cultural programs being held in Egypt for the first time, he added.

It is worth highlighting that some activities of the New Alamein Festival will be held in the North Square Mall, located at the heart of the New Alamein City on 164,000 sqm of land.

With EGP 2.5 bn worth of investment, North Square will be the first entertainment hub in the new city with commercial, cultural, and restaurant sites, overlooking the Mediterranean Corniche.

It also includes a car park with the capacity to accommodate 3,200 cars, a 68-room hotel for the current summer season, and a 6,000 sqm beach.
