ABB Opens Doors to Egyptian Students, Shares Expertise on Renewables

Zurich-based electrical equipment maker ABB Ltd. partnered with the Administrative Capital For Urban Development (ACUD) to train Egyptian university students on sustainable solutions, Invest-Gate reports.

As part of the program organized by the capital city’s developer, ABB delivered lectures on technologies used in national projects,  such as the new capital. The company focuses on providing safe, renewable energy sources.

Students from The British University in Egypt (BUE) and Ain Shams University learned about ABB’s professional skills requirements and various projects through teamwork exercises and experience sharing.

ABB also gave students a tour of its factories in the 10th of Ramadan City. They saw first-hand the latest technologies discussed theoretically.

“We hope students benefit from distinguished training by companies,” said Mohamed Fayrouz, Electrical Networks Departments Manager at ACUD.

The program qualifies graduates for the job market transition, contributing to building a skilled workforce, he added.

Mohamed Salah, ABB’s Marketing Manager, said the lectures and tour exposed passionate future engineers to the company’s vision and technical abilities. “We wish them all success,” Salah added.

ABB has been a major supplier for projects in the New Administrative Capital, including business district towers and ministry headquarters. The company is involved in various residential and recreational areas there.
