Ministry of Housing Showcases Egypt’s Experience in New Cities in World Smart City Expo Korea

The Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities participated in the World Smart City Expo Korea, held in Goyang City, South Korea, with representatives from Asian and African countries, Invest-Gate reports.

The Egyptian experience in new cities was presented during the event, along with the ministry’s vision for transforming new cities into smart cities.

For his part, Abdelkhalek Ibrahim, Assistant Minister of Housing for Technical Affairs, mentioned that on the sidelines of the conference, the announcement made regarding Badr City’s joining of the “K-City Network” and the funding of the project to transform it into a smart city.

The Ministry of Housing initiated this joint project in partnership with the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat) as part of the collective efforts to introduce responsive smart cities that meet the needs of citizens.

The Minister of Housing assistant added that these efforts come within the cooperation between the Ministry of Housing and the UN-Habitat in the fields of urban management, urban development, urban planning, and the development of basic infrastructure supply processes. These efforts are implemented in coordination with the New Urban Communities Authority and the General Organization for Physical Planning.
