Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, followed up on the implementation of the Amr Ibn Al-Aas free corridor in Giza Governorate, Invest-Gate reports.
He stressed the importance of this traffic axis, as one of the national projects being implemented by the Central Authority for Reconstruction, through the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Authority.
Mahmoud Nassar, head of the Central Authority for Reconstruction, explained that he inspected the implementation of the works at the project site, accompanied by Mohamed Al-Kilani, head of the Greater Cairo Reconstruction Authority.
Nassar pointed out that the Amr Ibn Al-Aas axis project connects the southern arc of the ring road, in the area of its intersection with the El Mariouteya axis, with the northern arc of the ring road in Monshaat Al Bakari area, with a length of 4.5 km and a width of 12 traffic lanes.
It also includes the construction of an overhead bridge with a width of 21.5 meters (3 traffic lanes in each direction), and connection works with the ring road, El Mariouteya axis, and the streets.
The main axis has a total length of 4.9 km, and the axis intersects in the middle of Al-Haram and Faisal Streets, passes through El-Matbaa Street, and also intersects with the streets (El-Orouba – El-Thalathiny – Mohamed Anwar El Sadat).
Nassar directed that the deadlines for completing the work on the project be adhered to. The axis is scheduled to be operated in the distance from the southern arc of the ring road until the connection with Al Haram Street during October 2023, and the rest of the axis will be operated to connect with the northern arc of the ring road during January 2024.
