Housing Ministry Officials, EBRD Review Go Green Action Plan for 6th of October City

Abdel Khalek Ibrahim, Deputy Housing Minister for Technical Affairs, held a second meeting with officials from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to review the green transformation action plan for the 6th of October City, funded by the bank, Invest-Gate reports.

The project consultant, the ministry’s technical support unit members, and a representative from the 6th of October City Authority attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Ibrahim explained that the discussion focused on ways to support the EBRD in implementing the “Go Green.” He noted that Egypt had developed this plan as part of the implementation of the Global Initiative for Sustainable Urban Development, in which the Ministry of Housing participated in its launch at the “COP27” climate conference hosted by Egypt in Sharm El-Sheikh in 2023.

Moreover, the bank officials explained that through the Go Green Plan, 6th of October City will become a leader in environmentally friendly industrial development and resource efficiency. It will serve as a center for economic prosperity, comprehensive green growth, and sustainable development. It will provide a suitable living environment and attract residents, students, and business people as an educational and industrial hub.
