Mamdouh Raslan, Chairman of the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation, has hosted Charles Milupi, Zambian Minister of Infrastructure, Housing and Urban Development, and Topply Mulambo Lubaya, Zambia’s Ambassador to Cairo, along with their accompanying delegation at the company’s headquarters yesterday, Invest-Gate reports.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening Egyptian-African relations, examining the Egyptian experience, particularly in drinking water, and sanitation, and reviewing activities and projects in drinking water purification, sewage treatment, and desalination.
At the outset of the meeting, Raslan welcomed the Zambian delegation, praising the meeting that brought together the two ministers, Assem El Gazzar, Minister of Housing and Utilities, and his Zambian counterpart Milupi, two days ago at the Ministry of Housing’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
Moreover, Raslan emphasized that his meeting with the Zambian minister falls within the framework of consolidating the good relations between the two countries, responding to the directives of El-Gazzar to share the Egyptian experience in the field of urban development and infrastructure.
In the same context, Milupi expressed his pleasure in being in Egypt, the unprecedented developmental progress achieved, and the significant cooperation between Egypt and African countries in various fields.
Furthermore, the Zambian ambassador expressed his gratitude for the successful work visit arranged by the Egyptian side for the Zambian minister and his accompanying delegation. He also praised the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation in particular.
The President of the Holding Company stated that international cooperation projects are one of the main roles and contributions managed by the Holding Company for Drinking Water and Sanitation to implement projects of the National Sanitation Program for Egyptian villages.
This program is of special importance to the political leadership and aims to improve the coverage of sanitation services in Egyptian villages to be in line with the coverage rates in cities. It will also enhance the living and health standards of the neediest areas’ residents in line with the concept of international development to improve living conditions and achieve social prosperity, economic, as well as health and educational development.
