Zambian Infrastructure Minister, his Delegation Conduct Visit to Egypt’s New Cities

Egyptian officials from the Ministry of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities recently organized an extensive field visit for Charlis Milupi, the Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development of Zambia, along with Ambassador Jean Topley, the Zambian ambassador to Egypt, and their accompanying delegation, Invest-Gate reports.

The visit included tours of the new cities of Badr, Capital Gardens, and the New Administrative Capital, as part of the Zambian delegation’s official visit to learn about Egypt’s urban experience under the presidency of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries.

The Zambian delegation’s tour included visiting the first-phase buildings of the “Capital Bloom” for employees of the New Administrative Capital in Badr City, comprising 376 buildings with 9,024 residential units ranging from 103 to 126 sqm each.

These buildings were equipped with various amenities, including three schools, two nurseries, two bakeries, two medical centers, four commercial markets, sports fields, and places of worship, all catering to the needs of state employees.

The Zambian Minister of Infrastructure and Urban Development and the accompanying delegation inspected various components of the project, praising the quality of execution, the overall plan, and the green spaces.

Also, they visited one of the residential buildings, examining a furnished model unit, before moving on to the site of the second phase of the “Capital Bloom” units for state employees transitioning to the New Administrative Capital. This phase, nearing completion, comprises approximately 4,704 residential units ranging from 103 to 126 sqm each, some of which have been finished and furnished.

Notably, the Zambian Minister and the accompanying delegation visited the city of Capital Gardens, where Ammar Mandour, the President of the Capital Gardens City Authority, and officials from the city authority hosted them.
