Egypt’s Minister of Housing Assem El-Gazzar has issued three directives aimed at addressing construction violations and encroachments across areas managed by two cities, Invest-Gate reports.
The decisions outline the removal of various breaches, such as unauthorized ground floors, stores, and multiple structures lacking proper permits within Sadat City’s southeast region, covering 1.84 feddans owned by the New Urban Communities Authority in New El-Fashn City.
Emphasizing the ministry’s commitment to eradicating irregularities and preserving the aesthetic of new cities, the minister stressed ongoing cooperation between ministry entities and other stakeholders to address urbanization issues and prevent informal settlements.
The directives mandate the city authorities in New El-Fashn and Sadat cities to demolish the violations in coordination with the Construction Police and applicable law enforcement.
Additionally, Adel El-Naggar, head of the 6th of October City Authority, highlighted successful monitoring leading to the immediate halt of illegal construction in certain buildings within the city.
Yasser Abdel Halim Hassan, head of Sadat City Authority, was appointed to oversee regular surveillance across the city, focusing on addressing encroachments on state properties and minimizing water loss through targeted initiatives.
The crackdown extended to other areas: Mohamed Essam El-Din, head of New Beni Suef City Authority, reported the removal of street vendors’ encroachments and sidewalk misuse in the city’s residential districts. The campaign also revoked a land plot allocation due to non-compliance.
Similarly, Ali Saad, head of Shorouk City Authority, highlighted security campaigns targeting unlawful activities, resulting in seizing vehicles violating operational regulations and removing waste points from specific districts.
City officials reaffirmed a zero-tolerance policy towards violations, ensuring stringent legal actions, removal of illegal water connections, collection of fines, and continued comprehensive surveillance efforts.
