Madbouly Reviews Progress of Alexandria Beach Protection, Corniche Expansion Project

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly has chaired a meeting to follow-up on the progress of efforts to protect the beaches of Alexandria and expand the city’s iconic Corniche, Invest-Gate reports.

The meeting was attended by various officials, including Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Assem El-Gazzar, Assistant Advisor to the President of the Republic for Urban Planning Hisham Al-Suwaifi, Head of the Central Reconstruction Agency Mahmoud Nassar, and Major General Nabil Nagy from the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

Other attendees included Ahmed Al-Assar, Chairman of the Arab Contractors Company; Mukhtar Hussein, Chairman of the Central North Coast Reconstruction Authority; Walid Abdel Azim, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University; and Ahmed Rashad Abbas, Chairman of the Egyptian General Authority for Coastal Protection; along with officials from several ministries and concerned authorities.

Mohamed Al-Homsani, the official spokesman for the cabinet, stated that the meeting focused on the Corniche expansion project in Alexandria and the beach protection works. The concerned authorities, including the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces, the Egyptian General Authority for Beach Protection, and the Central North Coast Reconstruction Authority, presented their progress and plans for the project. The Arab Contractors Company and the Engineering Center for Public Service at the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University were also involved in the discussions.

The decisions and procedures related to the development and expansion of the Alexandria Corniche were reviewed during the meeting, specifically emphasizing the work carried out by the Egyptian General Authority for Coastal Protection and the Arab Contractors Company as urgent priorities. The progress of urgent protection work in the project was also presented and discussed.
